Authorities have started the search for the four suspects in the mauling to death of a vacationing OFW in a brawl at a bar in Quezon City that also seriously injured the victim's companion last Saturday night.
A report on "Unang Balita" on Friday morning said police are now tracking the suspects, who were earlier identified as Fritz Mohamed (main suspect), Cyril Rada, Earl Grande, and one alias Jammil.
Citing initial police information, the report said that one of the suspects might have used brass knuckles during the brawl, inflicting fatal injuries on the victim.
Earlier, the police said they are still trying to identify the suspects' six other companions — two male and four female.
Police investigators were able to secure a group photo of the suspects inside the bar, according to an earlier GMA News report.
"All of them could be considered as suspects on this murder case," Quezon City Police District chief Senior Supt. Guillermo Lorenzo Eleazar said earlier this week.
The suspects are facing murder charges for the killing of Abigail Gino Basas and frustrated murder for inflicting serious injuries on Basas' companion, Lloyd Melvin Lizondra, who is recuperating in a hospital.
According to an earlier report, the brawl started when Basas, a photographer in a cruise ship, accidentally bumped Mohamed while on his way out of the bar on Saturday night.
Mohamed was then seen on CCTV telling his friends about the incident, prompting them to chase the victim and his companion who were then already at the bar's parking lot where the brawl occurred. —LBG, GMA News
