Four more members of the so-called Davao Death Squad (DDS) are expected to surface and corroborate the earlier statements of confessed hitmen Arturo Lascañas and Edgar Matobato, Senator Antonio Trillanes IV claimed on Friday.

Trillanes, however, said the four DDS members should first prove their “sincerity” given the possible risks of speaking against President Rodrigo Duterte.

“Tsine-tsek natin [nang] maigi para malaman kung sinsero sila talaga, kung totoo ang mga sinasabi at kung handa silang harapin yung peligro na haharapan nila,” Trillanes said in a text message.

“Their testimonies will corroborate Lascañas’ and Matobato’s claims,” he added.

Trillanes is presently helping secure the safety of the two confessed hitmen.

Both Lascañas and Matobato have appeared before the Senate to testify on the existence of the so-called DDS.

The two claim that Duterte, former city mayor of Davao, was behind the DDS and ordered several people killed, including radio broadcaster Jun Pala.

Malacañang has downplayed Lascañas and Matobato’s testimonies, saying the allegations against the President were “fabricated.” GMA News
