Earlier during Senator Alan Peter Cayetano's privilege speech, he tackled numerous subjects including the validation of the witness by the chairman of the committee and De Lima's surprise witness Edgar Matobato tarnishing the credentials of President Dutere and the country.
This prompted De Lima to walk out of the Senate Session Hall while Cayetano is still delivering his speech. Just moments after she walked out, De Lima explains the reason why to the media.
"I cannot stand it, so I'm gonna deliver my own privilege speech tomorrow instead of confronting him now (Cayetano). De Lima was also asked regarding the allegations of tarnishing President Rodrigo Duterte's reputation and her response was "What is destroying the reputation of this country are the killings. It's not me."
